We both have been reverting this mention in Ballarat, Victoria as "vandalism". It probably doesn't belong there but is it "vandalism? --Ron Ritzman (talk) 03:12, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orange Karma Records... you jumped the gun

I understand your citation (A7) for speedy deletion, but you entirely and completely ignored every word of this:

Before nominating an article for speedy deletion, consider whether it could be improved, reduced to a stub, merged or redirected elsewhere or be handled with some other action short of deletion. If this is possible, speedy deletion is probably inappropriate. Contributors sometimes create articles over several edits, so try to avoid deleting a page too soon after its creation if it appears incomplete. Users nominating a page for speedy deletion should specify which criteria the page meets. While not required, except for copyright concerns, it is generally considered courteous to notify the good-faith creator and any main contributors of the articles that you are nominating for deletion.

It was designated as a stub, it had the speedy deletion tagged removed by someone other than me and I was in the process of updating content. The page was deleted less than 2 hours after creation even though I marked it as a stub so that I could find more information and try to get a picture. Also, I understand you didnt nominate the article for speedy deletion, you just deleted it. But you deleted it rather hastily IMHO. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Automaticstatic (talkcontribs) 14:17, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I was a little late adding a talk page notice for that user. I had actually already indef blocked him before you warned him again on his talk page. He had already been told he could be blocked, he was repeatedly creating an attack page, and his username was the same name as the attack page; that was enough for me to want to block him. Hi. I saw you edit. Could you please see the vandal's page User talk:71.93.187.208? Content is no appropriated (it's Spanish, and I as portuguese can understand that, its not very good). That IP can be shared and message can be seen by others users. Should be deleted? Mosca (talk) 02:09, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Persistent vandalism

An article (and a very innocent one at that) that I created has been subjected to persistent vandalism (from what appears to be one person) over the past week. You fixed it on a couple of occasions--thanks. Can anything be done about this vandalism?Hohenloh (talk) 13:08, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

LIon King article Question

Hello, an editor change the Lion King's title and made a redirect for the page. For some reason it didnt carry my current Peer Review or the archives over with it. Do you know how to fix this?

Thanks, DrNegative (talk) 02:10, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi and thanks for the reply. The problem was fixed by another editor. Someone tried to re-name the page and it wasnt taking the talk page or peer review with it. DrNegative (talk) 07:06, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hollywood Undead

Why is it that people like you won't let there be a Hollywood Undead article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by HaTrolled (talkcontribs) 02:53, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

So you want proof that a band by the name of Hollywood Undead exists? Want me to link their MySpace page, or a YouTube link of one of their songs? —Preceding unsigned comment added by HaTrolled (talkcontribs) 03:02, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Their notability? they are as notable as Flobots, if not more. They are on MySpaces top requested friends lists. Their Song "Black Dahlia" is one of the most downloaded songs on the internet. —Preceding unsigned comment added by HaTrolled (talkcontribs) 03:11, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I'll let you figure out what to do about that. JBsupreme (talk) 01:23, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Obama edits

My edits on my articles, with the exception of the poorly thought out Harry Reid edit, were not vandalism. I am only adding his middle name because it is a very important detail. i don't mess aroud with someone life. for me to make up that some one is dead would be pathetic.also you shouldn't be as quick to dismiss something just because it is not on the web yet.CMJMEM (talk) 20:06, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, if you cannot back up an assertion with a source, you should not be adding it to an article. It may come as a blow to your opinion of humanity, but we remove death hoaxes about twenty times a day. If you have any questions about our verifiability policies, please feel free to ask. Kuru talk 20:11, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

you still acted way to fast to dismiss it. when you have a ton of edits from many individuals even without a source you should take that into effect.you were wrong to act so fast, even if you were trying to do the best thing.the page should be semi protected though. for the time being, so ip address can not vandalize the pageCMJMEM (talk) 20:16, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Negative unsourced information is strictly against policy, period. You can read our biographical policy here: WP:BLP. There's no choice on this, and we remove instantly. We take a bigger beating when we report on a death that someone just made up than if we don't include a real death instantly. Please recall that this is an encyclopedia, not a news wire. You

I've been watching you, mang. You seem to be all wrapped up in a power trip here. All you do is search for vandals. You could spend this time, I dunno, MAKING CONSTRUCTIVE EDITS. Instead of this "Large and in charge" attitude you bring to wikipedia with your quest to shut people down, You should remember why they started this whole thing. Edits. Constructive ones. You, my friend, are a detriment to wikipedia.

John L. LeFlore

As John L. LeFlore's son, I find it hurting and disrectful when ANYONE who did not know what my father stood for or did not attend the high school that he helped to build, damages his legacy in ANY way. ANYTHING that is in question about anything pertaining to our family's history please consult me first. With many of these article there is priceless information that one just WOULD NOT know about. Also no one knows the vision of my father more than HIS children. I am in conjunction with the learning institution to construct and maintain business with all John L. LeFlore paraphanalia. Please contact me at your earliest for any concerns and or questions about any info that is unbeknowest to many, including yourself. Thank You for your care and concern for this matter. Our family greatly appreciates all that you do. Please communicate any questions that you may have in relation to our father. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Santeni (talkcontribs) 23:03, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good call on the revert to a more encyclopedic version of this article. So much junk has come into the article, that I couldn't see how it could be fixed. TheMindsEye (talk) 03:11, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why the deletion?

Hi Discospinster,

All the other external links are clearly commercial.

my addition is not .. *Auto Dealer Supply Checklist A detailed checklist of auto dealer forms and supplies commonly used by car dealers to successfully operate and manage their business.

It's clearly not commercial and is in fact very germane (closely or significantly related; relevant; pertinent) and adds value to the article.

I'm new to wikipedia. Why the deletion?

Thanks, Malcolm ... Estampe123 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Estampe123 (talkcontribs) 03:20, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the reconsideration

Hi Discospinster,

Thanks for the second look. Sorry about the Knol thing ;) This is my first contribution to WP and I learned a little. (WP is much more upscale then Knol)

Best, Malcolm - Estampe123 (Estampe123 (talk) 03:40, 13 August 2008 (UTC)) (hope I signed right, still not figured it out)[reply]

Re: Estampe Auto Dealer Supplies

Discospinster: The external link added to the Car dealerships in the USA article by Estampe123, should have nothing to do with Knol. The link to the "Auto Dealer Supply Checklist" is an advertisement masquerading as an article. It is one of the "Links normally to be avoided" guidelines because it falls in the category of: Links to sites that primarily exist to sell products or services... The linked article is clearly an ad since it ends with: For more information contact: Malcolm Uffelman, Estampe Auto Dealer Supplies... Thanks — CZmarlin (talk) 03:53, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am at my wits end dealing with the never ending WP:BLP problems with this article. What do you suggest I do? I'd like a third party's opinion if I'm enforcing the living persons policy "too agressively" (from an uninvolved yet experienced editor). Feel free to tell me I'm doing it all wrong. Regarding Agama Yoga Article

An article (Agama Yoga) which you have in the past (2007-10-13 02:16:55) denied Speedy Deletion has been nominated for deletion (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Agama_Yoga). on the grounds that it lacks notability & sources. I have offered the initiator of this discussion to view the refferences i used but have not been so far received a reply from him. I would be happy to have your involvement in this discussion. Apparently the article was moved to the name Kiss the Bride (2008 film). Anyway, if you read the edit summary you will notice that I did not revert your edit, I reverted to your edit. So, you know, name-calling isn't really necessary. ... discospinster talk 18:55, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vandal/Sockpuppet

I thought I'd point out to you that an IP address you recently blocked, user:67.109.80.190, has continued on a massive vandalism spree. The IP address is also a sockpuppet of indefinitely blocked user:Lilbenrt, a user that was blocked for making identical vandal edits as the IP address. The IP address appears to be used by only one editor, has been blocked and warned repeatedly, and may be due for a lengthy block at this point. Chicken Wing (talk) 22:55, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Question about blocks

Hey Discospinster. After what happened on User talk:98.206.97.78, I was wondering if an admin could—hypothetically, of course—give all the warnings and block the user even if it isn't an extreme case (ie: plain old "usual" vandalism). Thanks, ~ Troy (talk) 00:45, 16 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, vandalism on Wikipedia really ranges ...I think I meant something like may be 5 or 6 vandal edits on the same page, although now I realize that that question is too generalized. I see some pretty serious stuff almost everyday, now, but there's also a bunch of test edits (keeping in mind that it differs from vandalism). ~ Troy (talk) 00:55, 16 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
