Arcot N. Veeraswami is the current minister for electricity in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. He was born in Kuppadichatham village in Tamil Nadu on 21-April-1937. He has finished his school education before he actively engaged in politics. He is the member of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam party for a long time and has been elected to Tamil Nadu assembly six times.[1] His mother tongue is Telugu.

Jayalalitha defamation case

Former Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalitha filed a defamation case against Veeraswami when he alleged her for involvement in the attack on the residence of the then Chief secretary.[2]
