The London Arena is an indoor arena on the Isle of Dogs in London, England. It was the home of the London Knights ice hockey team, and other events held there included pop concerts and boxing matches. It was not a financial success, partly due to having fairly poor transport access, and as of 2005 it is closed. It will be superseded as the main arena in East London by the Millenium Dome, when that building has been converted into an arena. In December 2005, it housed the annual 'Crisis Open Christmas' event (held the previous year in the Millennium Dome), organised by the London-based charity Crisis (charity) [1]. This provides food, accommodation, various medical and social services and company to around 1500 guests and 3500 volunteers each Christmas. The London Arena is due to be demolished in 2006 and replaced by a mainly residential development.
