Åkerby is a small Swedish village in the area of Småland, neighboring the small commynity of Lessebo, with the population of 100. [1] The first Oregrounds iron came from Åkerby and its surrounding regions. A famous place in Åkerby is Åkerby Vägskäl, where the first people gathered before emigrating to America in the 19 century. Wilhelm Moberg wrote about this in his book utvandrarna.
