Brigadier General Mark T. Kimmitt, US Army, who had previously served as the chief military spokesman for the Coalition Provisional Authority in Baghdad, is currently serving as the US Central Command’s deputy director for strategy and plans. Previously, Kimmitt served at NATO's SHAPE headquarters in Belgium.

Mark Kimmitt's father is Joseph Stanley Kimmitt (Stan), former Secretary of the Senate and army colonel, who passed away in 2004.
