Fit for Rivals is an American Rock band originating from Jacksonville, Florida. Consisting of Renee Phoenix as lead vocalist, Thomas Amason as guitarist, Dorman Pantfoeder as drums and Eli Clark as bassist. The band released their debut album "Steady Damage" on July 9, 2009. The band is planning on releasing their second studio album in early 2014.

History

Fit for Rivals are an American rock band formed in Jacksonville, Florida, in 2008. Fit For Rivals began when Renee met lead guitarist Thomas Amason at a gig and they chose to set up a new band. The band was named Fit For Rivals and they recruited the rest of the band from there. Their debut album, Steady Damage, was released in 2009. The band achieved success through their lead single from that album, Damage, which has a video on YouTube that has received millions of hits. Another one of their songs, Crash, was used on WWE pay-per-view.

The band's fan base, known as the Fitters, have been asking for a new album to be released since the release of Steady Damage and this was later confirmed on Twitter by Renee Phoenix. Their second album is said to be released in late 2013 and take influences from a more straightforward rock and roll sound than the more pop-punk inspired sound of their first one. The new album will feature more instrumentation, from keyboards, or piano. The band has stated, "Not to expect it to sound anything like the first album, we're having fun over here!"

Steady Damage (2009)

Steady Damage is the debut album released by the band and was both recorded and released in 2009. The album is well known for its lead singles Crash and Damage, both of which have music videos that have gained positive reviews. The band uses two guitarists on this album and they interchange who plays which section frequently. The drumming uses a lot of fills such as on the song Hallelujah, and the vocals hold a low-end, gruff tone.

Second Studio Album (2013−2014)

Their second studio release is said to be in early 2014. Gavin Brown (Metric, Billy Talent) is set to produce.
