In the fall of 1969, Daniel Ellsberg and his friend and former colleague at the Rand Corp., Anthony J. Russo (Tony), began copying the 7,000 pages of top-secret documents. When Published they would be known as the Pentagon Papers. They would be charged with espionage, theft, and conspiracy. On May 11, 1973, a federal court judge dismissed all charges against them.
