The UD SLF is a rear-engined single-decker bus (a semi low-floor city bus).[1] The other city buses of UD is UD BRT.[2]
It has 36 seats and Denso air-conditioning.[3]
The GH8 engine is 6 cylinder 8 liter Euro IV diesel engine (turbocharged and intercooled), ZF 6-speed automatic.[4][5]
Anti-lock Brake System, Door Brake System, Neutral Bus Stopping and 3-point seat belt are installed.[6]
The Volvo Group introduced UD Buses project in 2014 in India.[7][8][9][10][11][12][13] The UD Buses is included the Volvo Buses,[14] and includes city buses and coaches.[15]
In 2015, the prototype was started running at Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation, Bangalore.[16]
The manufacturer is UD Trucks, and the body of prototype was made by Volvo Buses India, but the body of main model is made by Volvo/SM Kannapa JV plant.[17][18][19]
