Curepto

Curepto is a municipality and town in the Chilean Province of Talca, located in the VII Maule Region. The town has many interesting examples of Chilean rural colonial architecture. The parish church is a particularly attractive example of a traditional religious building in the Spanish-Latin American style. The city itself is aperfect example of the governmental works of the Chilean government in remote rural regions, and of the diversity of cultures that came to be as a result of Spanish colonialism in the region. Curepto has slowly become more and more connected to the outside world and influenced by the internet after the launch of the Maule Activa initiative, which strived to give accessible internet connectivity to all the of the VII Maule Region.

El Festival de la Camelia

Roughly translated as "The Camelia Festival" (Camelia is a type of flower found in areas south of Santiago, in Chile), it has been a great example of Curepto's outgoing influence in the country. The festival itself consists of a collective concert that usually includes many of Chile's most recurring bands, and it reaches publicity in radio stations and television all around the country. The festival is celebrated every year, and it involves most of the townspeople in some way.

Population

Curepto has an increasing population of roughly 3,000 people, all of which are of spanish and native descent.

Rodeo

Being Chile's national sport, the Rodeo is practiced all throughout the country. During the summer months, Curepto's rodeo arena is filled with public to presence the beauty and coordinance of the sport. It is an occasion for which all the inhabitants get together to celebrate their descent.
