Bursera is a genus of about 40 species of flowering plants in the family Burseraceae, native to tropical and warm temperate regions of the Americas, from the southern United States south to northern Argentina.

The species are shrubs and small to medium-sized trees up to 25 m tall.

Selected species

The genus is named after the German botanist Joachim Burser (1583-1649).
