Boletus rubripes, or Bitter Bolete or Red-Stemmed Bitter Bolete, is a mushroom in the Boletaceae family. It is non-toxic but is so bitter as to be inedible.[1]

It has a very strong bluing reaction when handled [2]and forms mycorrhizal relationships, primarily with conifers. [1]
