Calyon is the bank of the Crédit Agricole banking group operating outside of France.

In 2003 Crédit Agricole took over Crédit Lyonnais. Both are large French banks and in that country they remain distinct businesses and are in competition with one another.

However, since May 1 2004 outside of France they operate a joint subsidiary called Calyon. It results from the merger of Crédit Agricole's foreign businesses - which usually traded as Crédit Agricole Indosuez - and those of Crédit Lyonnais.

This is represented in its name 'CA' for Crédit Agricole and 'lyon' for Lyonnais.
