Diever lays on the side of the Drentse Hoofdvaart. In July and August the local people of Diever play drama's of William Shakespeare. Diever is also called Shakespeare-town. The plays are being played in an open-air theater and are famous in the Netherlands. Also the people in Stratford-upon-Avon know that the local people of Diever play the things their city mate has written.
