Westerveld ( listen ^{? / I} ) is a municipality in the northeastern Dutch province of Drenthe . It has 19,381 inhabitants (as of January 31, 2019) and an area of ​​around 283 km² and was created in 1998 through the merger of the municipalities of Havelte , Diever, Dwingeloo and Vledder.
