Nature and culture

The municipality of Borger-Odoorn is located in an area with a large number of large stone graves . The largest megalithic facility is in Borger; a “Hunebedcentrum” (“Hünengrabzentrum”) has been built right next to it.

At Drouwen, the state forest administration has created a "boomkroonpad" ("canopy path"). Visitors can walk through the tops of the trees on wooden paths.

In 2010 Borger-Odoorn joined the international alliance Cittàslow , whose aim is to improve the quality of life in cities.

The only Abarth club in the Netherlands is located in the municipality of Borger-Odoorn .
