Dillon Tate (Born May 1, 1994) is an American baseball pitcher. He plays college baseball at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is considered one of the top prospects for the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft.
Career
Tate attended Claremont High School in Claremont, California. He committed to the University of California, Santa Barbara.[1] As a freshman he appeared in four games and had had a 9.00 earned run average (ERA). As a sophomore he served as the closer, finishing with 12 saves, 1.45 ERA and and 46 strikeouts.[2] Tate was expected to enter his junior season in 2015 as the closer again, but was converted into a starter.[3][4][5]
Tate is considered one of the the top prospects for the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft.[6][7]
