Esperidião Amin (December 21, 1947) is a Brazilian politician. He was twice elected governor of state of Santa Catarina and mayor of Florianopolis, its capital. He was Senator of the Republic between 1991 and 1999 and national president of the Progressive Party. In 1994 he ran for the national presidency. He is married to Angela Amin, federal representative of the State of Santa Catarina in the National Congress and twice elected mayor of Florianópolis.
Amin studied Business Administration and Law at Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC). He completed his master's degree in management and teaches several courses in the areas of administration, economics, law and planning at UFSC. He began his career as a teacher in 1968 as a professor of Brazilian Social and Political Organization at the State Institute of Education, in Florianopolis.
