Redwall WikiProject

I think that the first step is recruiting more members. I spent the past little bit checking out this list, seeing who was an active member and such. Now I'm going to check my list of active Wikipedians who like Redwall against the list of contributers and then send invitations to the remainders. The only issue is that I may be going soon, so I may have to give the list to you, or simply tell them to see you with any questions. That okay?--Song 21:52, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I am going to be leaving soon. I hate to dump this list on you, but I have to.

Thank you thank you so much. I really am sorry about that. Re: my talk page: Nah, just to a lake. I can't stay for long: church. See, there's a reason I have that 'busy' template up! lol...and school starts tommorow for me as well. I will continue to do all I can for this project...but who knows when I'lll have enough time. I'll do my best.--Song 16:47, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, I would be glad to help out! Kris 00:42, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Redwall WikiProject

Sounds good to me, but it has been three years since I picked up a book, but I think I have read all of the extant books up to that point twice. In any case I will add the project and main pages to my watchlist and help out where I can. Cheers—Cronholm144 00:46, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

CSD

Hi there, thanks for the message. Which articles were you referring to? They were all deleted so fast after I tagged them, I didn't get a chance to warn the creators. They might need warnings for creating attack pages (one I reported to AIV, since they had a final warning) but unfortunately I can't see what I tagged anymore, do you happen to know? Thanks! Eliz81(talk)(contribs) 06:14, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I see where you added the warning. Thanks for taking the time to check up to make sure the creator was properly informed. Happy editing to you too! :) Eliz81(talk)(contribs) 06:20, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello - I was just about to create David Latta (Alberta politician). However, I don't think he's the most prominent of the three, necessarily, so I didn't think he should get the David Latta page. So I went through all the pages that link to David Latta and disambiguated the links to David Latta (Alberta politician), David Latta (ice hockey), and David Latta (rugby player). From there I figured that the best way of ensuring that, when somebody gets around to creating articles on the other two, they create them in the same namespace that I disambiguated the links to was to create the disambiguation page. I'm not married to this solution, though, so I'd be happy to hear what you have to say. Sarcasticidealist 08:13, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

CSD tagging

Hi GlassCobra. No worries - I'm not quite sure which article you're referring to anyway as I just did a bunch and might have actually missed out a few :) But I do always try to leave a note. :) --== Waycool27 ==-- 18:19, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Just doing my daily vandalism hunt.  :) — Super-Magician (talk contribs count) 20:26, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've declined speedy (already done that twice) and nominated at WP:AFD, in which you are free to participate. Technically G4 requires that the previous post have been following an afd, which is now in the works but hasn't been done before on this (never survived that long I guess). AfD nomination of Spells in Harry Potter

An article that you have been involved in editing, Spells in Harry Potter, has been listed for deletion. WikiProject Harry Potter roll-call

Hi there. Your username is listed on the WikiProject Harry Potter participants list, but we are unsure as to which editors are still active on the project. Your name has therefore been moved to a "potentially inactive" list. If you still consider yourself an active WikiProject Harry Potter editor, please move your name from the Potentially inactive list to the Active Contributors list. You may also wish to add {{User WP Harry Potter}} to your userpage, if you haven't done so already. Conversely, if you do not wish to be considered a member of the WikiProject, leave your name where it is and it will be moved to the Inactive Contributors section. If you wish to make a clean break with the Project you may move your name to the Known to have left section. Many thanks.

Spells in Harry Potter

Thankyou for your support. I hate WP:FICT as it currently stands - it's far too draconian. If it was interpreted word-for-word, the only articles left of the Wikiproject would be the books, the films, the three lead characters and one article about fandom. It's horrible!! But Spells in Harry Potter is going to survive this AfD even if the reference section is six feet long by the end of it!! Happy-melon 19:47, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Essentially, primary sources (the books, in this case) are not given any authority at all for defining notability. What it means is that the article on Hermione Granger has to prove its notability in the same way as Cormac McLaggen, which is patently absurd. It also, by insisting on very high notability standards, raises the bar extremely high. I would expect that, by WP:FICT's definition, it's harder to get an article for the captain of a Quidditch team than it is for the captain of an Elephant polo team, despite many more people knowing about Quidditch than Elephant Polo! I had to invoke Wikipedia:Ignore All Rules not long ago against someone who was being totally literal about WP:FICT. It did the job tho: 17 keeps against 1 delete during the last three days of the AfD!! Happy-melon 20:07, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

CSD on DJ F00P

If you look on the talk page of this article, we have already discussed that this article can be turned into something useful on Wikipedia. And it actually doesn't go against the BLP policy. I ask that you remove the CSD tag you placed on it. (Note: I am not the creator of the article) Thanks. --Pilotboi / talk / contribs 07:35, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blanking and moving

GlassCobra, thanks for offering to set me on the right path. I just had no idea how to move The Spring or blank the old version. If you could explain this to me I would appreciate it. Preston McConkie 08:54, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
