Jewel Akens

Jewell Akens was an African-American singer and producer born in Houston, Texas on September 12, 1940. He first recorded with Eddie Daniels as Jewel and Eddie on the Silver label in 1960. He went solo and recorded The Birds And The Bees in 1965 on The Era Label. The song went to Number 3 that year.
