John Joseph Saunders

John Joseph Saunders (1910-1972) was a British medieval historian, whose work focused on Islamic and Asian history. He was lecturer at the Canterbury University in New Zealand.

His main works (sometimes signed J. J. Saunders) are:

  • Aspects of the Crusades (1962)
  • The Muslim World on the Eve of Europe's Expandion (1966)
  • The History of the Mongol Conquests (1971)
