Image:Michaelpa1.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Michaelpa1.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Longhair\talk 09:21, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

June 2007

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the external links you added to the page Ogalo do not comply with our guidelines for external links. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Thewinchester (talk) 16:39, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Uh excuse me? Firstly where did the article go? Secondly what "external link" are you referencing? --Mikecraig 22:34, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, the Article was nominated CSD G11 as it clearly does not meet the relevant notability criteria, WP:CORP. It is written like an advertisement, has no information which meets notability (and sponsoring the football club of a private school does not confer notability by association either), lacks references, you get the idea. As it's been recreated, it will now be going for a Procedural AfD to deal with the matter. Thewinchester (talk) 23:44, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
As mentioned to Tone, You need to look at the hundreds of POV and biased articles that exist on WP for products, brands, companies...etc - this one is an Australian company and similar to other food outlets, restaurants (inc Oporto, Nandos..etc) - yes it does need expanding and ref's cited - I am in the process of cleaning this up to make it better. --Mikecraig 23:48, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Personal attack?

Re [1]. I remind you of official policy regarding assuming good faith. Such comments are unhelpful. I suggest you lighten up a bit and provide reasoned arguments without adding unfounded speculation. —Moondyne 01:19, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's all good and fine, interesting note is that looking at various contributions and talk pages for the users in question they seems to be deleting articles left/right/centre without much discussion or justification. Like anything, they need not rush into or jump to any conclusions without facts or discussion --Mikecraig 01:23, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Just remember to stay civil. If you have concerns, raise them with the editors in a courteous and non-confrontational way and you'll more often than not get a positive outcome. —Moondyne 05:13, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Editing Richard Marsland

Remember good faith? The vandalism warning is unnecessary, and I'm sure you don't need me to cite Wikipedia policy now do you? Tag-molio 01:31, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you care to read any of the discussion regarding this article, that section and information was not part of the article and had been removed many times by various editors.--Mikecraig 01:34, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I did care to read the discussion on the article, and found your various editors to be about two people. So much authority it is blinding to look at. Also, it was agreed (actually, proposed by you) that "Armitage Shanks" should stay, and so I will proceed to return that nickname, at least. And once again, vandalism warning? How quaint. Tag-molio 03:18, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It's actually more than two, but good to see that you are "getting your facts straight" and reading things correctly. The Armitage Shanks name you mention was taken off with no argument by myself. So keep up your good work! --Mikecraig 03:24, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
"About two" implies not exactly two, but good to see you aren't "getting your facts straight" and misreading comments to justify you banality. A good day to you, sir Tag-molio 05:16, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Added disputed claim on image page --Mikecraig 01:42, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A very simple answer, Category:Media companies of Australia is a sub-category of Category:Companies of Australia. It doesn't need to be in both, as one gives it the correct link to the master category. And as per the big green note at the top of the Aussie Companies category "...should list very few (if any) article pages directly, and should mainly contain sub-categories. Articles in this category should be moved to subcategories where appropriate.". Thewinchester (talk) 01:49, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cool --Mikecraig 01:50, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Indiscriminate lists of information

If I find them in my travels, I'll take each of them on their merits accordingly and decide if any actions is warranted. If you have a list of such articles, I would kindly suggest reviewing that list yourself and doing the same. Thewinchester (talk) 02:21, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Don't have time to do that as busy with normal adding, editing and improvement tasks to WP but thought it may have interested you. No probs. --Mikecraig 02:22, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
