Um, I just stumbled across the above 'problem'. Not sure what you want to do about it as you started the first page, presumably not realising the second existed. :-) Your own words betray you. Ayaan Hirsi Ali is indeed a critic but to blanket refer to her as "anti-Islam" is not correct. I suppose your usage of "score points" is British in this case. In the way you've described it it sounds a bit more like "axes to grind"... but I don't see how adding someone like Ayaan Hirsi Ali to such a category is going to "score points against Islam"... if anything in my mind it'd be moreso "score points against Ayaan Hirsi Ali"... or put in the way that seems clearer, "Those with axes to grind against Ayaan Hirsi Ali will add her to the category.". :-) Netscott 15:09, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The steps are on the Articles for deletion page, but here's a short summary.

Suppose you want to nominate 3 pages: SomePage, AnotherPage and YetAnotherPage.

Paste the {{afd1}} on SomePage, as usual. This will create a link to the AfD at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/SomePage.
To get AnotherPage and YetAnotherPage to link to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/SomePage, paste the afd1 template on these pages in a different form: {{afd1|SomePage}}.
Create the AfD page (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/SomePage) as usual, but before you go on to step 3 (listing it in the daily log), edit the AfD page and mention the other articles you want to nominate for deletion also. (Just write something like "I also want to nominate these articles for deletion: AnotherPage and YetAnotherPage.")
List the AfD page on the daily log using the Afd3 template, as normal.

Please do not revert my good-faith productive changes without any discussion or explanation.
What I did was correct: there's no need to disambiguate between the Dayan the judge and Moshe Dayan - because Moshe Dayan is not ambiguous to Dayan, and a "Dayan redirects here" notice at the top of Beth din is plenty sufficient.

Yes, I could see what you were doing (and I was in the middle of writing you an explanation). The rule is never to use subst: on stub templates. Doing so completely ruins the work done by WP:WSS since it makes resorting articles close to impossible. It also means that a template and its corresponding category can easily be separated which is even worse. I think I have fixed all the affected articles now. I believe the db-advert tag was created by an ambitious user but not debated and accepted into the WP:CSD criteria, so while it was undoubtedly a bold move it was sidestepping procedure somewhat, so got the active portion of it disabled (i.e. adding it doesn't automatically list the article in the speedy deletion category). At the time I added the db-empty tag the article was only one sentence saying it was a forum that gave out passwords for adult sites, so I figured it probably classed as speedy (on reflection, db-group might have fitted better as it didn't "assert the notability"). Frankly I still can't see much hope for the article - it fails WP:WEB pretty hard, having been in existence only for a few months and having no Alexa rank. ~Matticus ^T_C 11:04, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Subsequent paragraphs are also attributed to various prophets who predate Christianity by some millenia. My recent uses of VP

Thanks for your message, and I hope you can help me out - another view always helps. So, to my errors with VP. The warning to DemonicAnglian was a complete and total error that arose because of a hardware problem here, I had no intention of issuing any warning to him. If I had, I agree a t4 would be innapropriate. I think I can point to two mistakes with VP, and one complete mystery (The Truth about the Iditarod). If I'm making other mistakes, either in degree of warning or where no vandalism has taken place, then please tell me where they are and I will work out how they arose and how to avoid them in the future. Hi, thanks, I couldn´t understand what is a speedy tag or a worked-on article. The article is notable because it is about the most important project to preserve the Transmontan bagpipe in Portugal - which had been almost vanished -, supported by many institutions like the Ministry of Culture. They do make a great effort with many projects, like classes and workshops. They have made valuable researches with old bagpipers which are dying, making these their last register. They promoted the most important bagpipe meeting in Portugal: the National Encounter of Bagpipers (Encontro Nacional de Gaiteiros), gathering even bagpipers from Scotland, Spain and France. It is really not just a self-promotional text, since it is a non-profitable organization; the intention is to show how important is to preserve the Transmontan bagpipe, and which efforts are being made. I´m sure enough that the Bagpipe Association of Portugal is much more notable than The Hairy Hands Club, but I´m going to retrieve some informations, like quantity of members (not 1,000,000 I guess, but a relevant quantity) and midia coverage. As I have said, is the most important organization to the preservation of the Transmontan bagpipe, for the extense of its courses, workshops, researches and events promoted. In fact, maybe only by the Gaitafolia, the pipeband of the association, there is enough midia coverage. As soon as possible, maybe two days, I may gather some informations. Cheers. Hi there, Dweller. I think I was able to gather some informations. The Association gahters actually around 200 effective members, and much more non-members. It has been covered by some important newspapers of Portugal, like Expresso, Público and Diário de Notícias. Their effort has been recognized by the government, receiving a subsidy from the Ministry of Culture to support their projects. The shows of their pipeband, the Gaitafolia, have been covered by some important media whereas it has been, like Spain and France. Their most important event, the Nation Encounter of Bagpipers, has gathered more than 8,000 people along its four years of existence, and has been covered by important media, like the newspapers already cited and TV channels like RTP and SIC. They are indeed the biggest movement to the preservation of the Transmontan bagpipe in Portugal, although they work toghether with other minor organizations. Criticism of MLB on FOX

The fact that the word criticism is in the headline makes the theory that it's completely POV the whole point to begin with. And what kind of argument that Major League Baseball is abrivated in the article should in itself warrant deletion!? I'm sure that there are people who don't know what the NFL, NBA, or NHL stand for, so what point are you making. I'm an American yet, I don't completely understand what something like FIFA (the international soccer organization) stands for off the top of my head. for example If you don't know what the letters stand for, then isn't that one of the reasons for Wikipedia to exist!? As far as POV goes, I think you'll find I'm not the only editor with that opinion. With regard to MLB, you must have missed the word "almost".
