St. Vincent de Paul School is a Catholic elementary and junior high school in Calgary, Canada.

Options

There are many options in the school for junior high such as Sports Performance, Drama, Art, Information Processing (Grade 7 only), French (Grade 8 and 9 only. It is mandatory for grade 7), and Band.

Drama

The St. Vincent de Paul drama option is available throughout junior high. Teachers for the drama production are Mrs.Tate for grade 7, and Ms.Martell for grade 9. Productions have included Romeo And Winifred, The Case Of The Missing Ring, and Charlie And The Chocolate Factory. Jake Cressy and Jon Bell saved the production of Romeo and Winifred from failing when the giant neon-green sign died. Ronald Chang was a techie.

Sports

The sports teams are also very school-spirited and fun. Just kidding. If you play football, they will try to kill you. No joke. It happened to Brian Searl in 1973, but we don't like to talk about him. There is volleyball, cross country, wrestling, basketball, badminton and flag football. There is also the annual Viking Cup Floor hockey tournament.

Notable alumni

Computer lab

The school features an advanced computer lab. In the September of 2007, the lab was updated with new computers, although they still run on Windows 2000. Unfortunately, the rumors are incorrect and we will not be using Fedora Linux any time soon.
