Motti Aroesti (right), 1983

Motti Aroesti (born 11 August 1954; Tel Aviv, Israel) is a retired Israeli basketball player who played point guard for Maccabi Tel Aviv from 1974 to 1988. He was a key piece in Maccabi's first golden era in European basketball. Aroesti wore the Maccabi jersey for 15 consecutive seasons and won an Israeli League title for each of those years, as well as 11 Israeli Cups. Moreover, Aroesti helped Maccabi win its first Euroleague title in 1977 and was still the starting point guard when his team lifted its second top continental trophy in 1981. One of the most successful players in Maccabi's history, he was among the 105 player nominees for the 50 Greatest Euroleague Contributors list. [citation needed]

Medals

Aroesti also won the silver medal at the 1979 Eurobasket with the Israeli national team.
