Oscar Malbernat is a retired Argentine footballer who was active for Estudiantes de La Plata during the Continental Cup confrontation with Feijenoord in 1970. After Joop van Daele scored the winning goal in this match Malbernat decided to grab Van Daele's glasses, which he passed over to Carlos Pachame, who trampled on the glasses. "You are not allowed to play with glasses." was his excuse, "At least not in South America."

After his career Malbernat would become a manager at various clubs all over South America.
