Theoretical and Applied Genetics (Online ISSN 1432-2242; also known as TAG) is a scientific journal published by Springer Verlag. The journal publishes peer-reviewed articles in the fields of plant genetics, plant genomics and plant biotechnology. Volume 1 appeared in 1929 as "Der Züchter", which name was changed to the current one in 1968.[1] TAG is currently (2007) [2] included in the major indexes Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries Abstracts, Chemical Abstracts, Current Contents, PubMed, Science Citation Index, and Scopus. According to the 2008 edition of the Journal Citation Reports, its 2007 impact factor is 3.137. This ranks TAG first i the categories Agronomy and Horticulture, 19th in Plant Sciences, and 53rd in Genetics & Heredity. Previous editors include H. Stubbe (1946-1976) and H. F. Linskens (1977-1987).[1] The journal publishes only original Research articles.
