The University of Portsmouth is the only University in the city of Portsmouth. It was a polytechnic until 1992. It is 'inside' the city and does not have its own dedicated campus. It offers a wide variety of courses.

Many students do not think it is very good. (Yes, this is designed to provoke further content as in point 5 of the stub article).
