Všeobecná úverová banka, a.s. (abbreviated as “VUB“ or “The Bank“) provides retail and commercial banking services. The bank is domiciled in Slovak Republic with its registered office at Mlynske Nivy 1, Bratislava. The Italian banking group Intesa Sanpaolo, with its headquarters based in Turin and Milan, is the majority shareholder of VUB, holding a 96.97 % stake. [2]
Intesa Sanpaolo was formed in January 2007 by the merger of Sanpaolo IMI and Banca Intesa.[2] The Intesa Sanpaolo Group is the leading provider of financial products and services to both households and businesses in Italy and one of the top banking groups in Europe. The intention of Intesa Sanpaolo in Slovakia includes further development of VUB as a universal bank, enhancement of its services to corporate clients, extension of retail services on a franchising basis, and development of sophisticated activities in capital markets.[2]
General information
At 31 December 2013, the bank had a network of 244 points of sale (including Retail Branches, Corporate Branches and Mortgage Centres across Slovakia. The Bank has also one branch in the Czech Republic.[1]

The logo of VUB is in harmony with the elements of Intesa Sanpaolo, a parent company. The orange square with three arches symbolising a Roman aqueduct represents a common unifying theme of corporate identity of all subsidiary companies of the Group. Aqueduct is a construction providing people with water, technical progress, and also life and prosperity. In addition, it is not only a symbol of spreading progress, but also of connecting people and cultures. Metaphorically, it denotes affiliation with Intesa Sanpaolo Group, accountability for development of society we are an integral part of, belonging, and building of relationships between individual subsidiary banks of the Group.[3]
Corporate font
VÚB BANKA is written in Trajan font named after Roman signs found on the Trajan Column situated in the Roman Forum. The font, distinguished by its elegance and overall softness, stands for timeliness and stability. Dark green evokes feelings of trust and safety, the attributes inherent in VUB Bank.[3]

VÚB Factoring is was established as the first factoring company in Slovakia and nowadays it is one of the largest ones on the market providing full range of factoring services.[4]
VÚB Generali d.s.s., a.s.
VUB Generali d.s.s., a.s. was founded in 2005 by VUB and Generali Poisťovňa (insurance company) as a joint venture in pension saving.The company offers services related to establishment and administration of pension funds for the purposes of the Old Age Pension Savings (so called Second Pillar of Pension Scheme).[4]
Consumer Finance Holding, a.s.
Consumer Finance Holding, a.s. was established in 2005 as an administrator over a group of financial companies providing consumer non-banking loans, instalment and catalogue sales and leasing of used cars. The company was created by a merger of the following companies Quatro, a.s., TatraCredit, a.s., Q-Car, a.s., Q-Broker, a.s, Slovenská požičovňa, a.s. and Slovenské kreditné karty, a.s.[4]

VÚB Leasing, a.s. is a universal lease company offering a wide range of financial products. In addition to financial lease services, the company also provides operational lease and instalment sale to to satisfy needs of its clients.[4]
VÚB Asset Management, správ.spol. a.s.
VÚB Asset Management,správ.spol. a.s. is the company registered on 17 April 2000.The core activities of the company’s business as per the extract from the Commercial Register are to collect cash from the public with the aim of investing it into assets as defined by law, to use such accumulated assets for the creation and administration of mutual funds; to provide services to mutual funds, to perform other activities under the law.[5]
