Vandavasi or Wandiwash is a city in Tamil Nadu state of India. It is located west of Chennai in Tiruvanamalai District.

Vandavasi was the scene of a decisive battle in the war between France and Britain for control of India. On January 22 1760, a British force led by Eyre Coote defeated a french force led by General Lally.
