FC Dniester Ovidiopol is a Ukrainian football club based in Ovidiopol, Odessa Region. Dnestr play on "Dnestr" stadium, also called "Victor Dukov" stadium. It has just 1500 seats. Dnestr plays in blue-white colors. It plays in the Persha Liha.

History

Initial football team in Ovidiopol was established in 1947. There was an amateur team, called "Dzerzhinets", which played in the local competitions of Odessa region and Ukraine. Amateur Ovidiopol team became Odessa region champions in 1980. Professional football club was created in 1992 based on the amateur team - shortly after Soviet Union breakdown in 1991. A team played in amateur Ukrainian championship in 1998 and won it in 1999. Since 2001 - team is playing in professional leagues of Ukrainian football.

Statistics in Ukrainian championships (2001/02 - 2006/07) is following: 176 games, 82 wins, 41 draws, 52 loses. Goal differences: 214-149. The best place in the second league: 1st (promotion to the first league)

Dnestr also played in Ukrainian Cup. Statistics for 2002/03 - 2006/07 is following: 2 wins, 5 loses.
