Álvaro Fernández , full name Álvaro Nahuel Fernández Carbone , (born June 5, 1998 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.83 meter tall offensive player Fernández played for the youth teams of Defensor Sporting from 2011 to 2014 . In 2014 he moved to River Plate Montevideo within the city . On August 31, 2016, he made his debut there with the professionals in the Primera División when he was called into the starting line-up by coach Juan Ramón Carrasco on matchday 1 of the 2016 season in a 1-1 draw against the Montevideo Wanderers . During the 2016 season he was used five times (no goal) in the league.
