Today more than 6,000 scouts are active in the EEUdF.
history
Like the Protestant scouts in Germany , the first independent scout groups in France emerged from the YMCA , the “Unions Chrétiennes de Jeunes Gens” and the female equivalent “Unions Chrétiennes des Jeunes Filles”. Independent scout groups formed between 1910 and 1912.
The Éclaireurs Unionistes de France was founded in 1912 and was involved in the founding of the umbrella organization Fédération Française des Éclaireuses (French Federation of Girl Scouts) in 1921 . Both organizations were in turn founding members of today's Fédération du Scoutisme Français in 1941.
In 1970 the Éclaireurs Unionistes de France and the Fédération Française des Éclaireuses Unionistes merged to form the coeducational Fédération des Éclaireuses et Éclaireurs Unionistes de France (FEEUF) . In 1995, the Girl Scouts simplified their name to Éclaireuses et Éclaireurs Unionistes de France .
Since 2008 the EEUdF has also been cooperating with other smaller scout organizations of the member churches and groups of the Evangelical Church Federation.
symbol
Today's symbol reflects the development of the association. The old emblem of the Éclaireurs Unionistes de France was expanded to include a clover leaf, which shows the union with the female association in 1970, as well as the lily as a symbol of the male scouts. Until 1995 the logo contained the word "Fédération".
