Émile Tricon
Émile Henri Tricon (born April 14, 1908 in Paris , † January 11, 2000 in Bois-Colombes ) was a French politician .
biography
Émile Tricon began his professional career as a financial advisor. At the age of 19, he was elected to the Bois-Colombes council in 1927. He was a member of this until 1953, from 1945 as deputy mayor. Tricon was a Gaullist . He was a close friend of the later Minister of the Interior Charles Pasqua , 19 years his junior , whom he helped to get into politics in the 1960s. Pasqua was known for a long time as the “Tricon Chauffeur” .
In 1953 Tricon was first elected Mayor of Bois-Colombes. He was re-elected to this office five times. He practiced it for 33 years until 1986. In 1966, on the initiative of his German colleague Dietrich Lang, he founded the town partnership with Neu-Ulm , which has been filled with life over the decades with numerous encounters at all levels of community life - from mutual visits by city councils, joint ventures by the associations to marriages. During his tenure, the city underwent major changes, numerous schools and other public facilities were built.
In addition to the mayor's office, Tricon was a member of the French National Assembly from 1963 to 1973 . From 1977 to 1989 he was a member of the General Council of the Hauts-de-Seine department .
In 1986 Tricon resigned as mayor of Bois-Colombes and took his friend Pasqua's seat in the French Senate after he had become Minister of the Interior. After nearly two years, he resigned as a senator so that Pasqua could take his seat again. Tricon ended his political career at the age of 80.
Honors
Tricon was made an honorary citizen of Neu-Ulm in 1981 . After his death, a square in the center of his hometown Bois-Colombes was named after him.
