Opening (chess)
In the game of chess, opening is understood to mean the purposeful elimination of pawns either by exchanging or by sacrificing pieces . The aim of opening up the game is to methodically increase the attacking effectiveness of one's own characters by opening up new lines of action or fields.

On the one hand, because of the threat of mate on g7, the queen sacrifice is accepted . On the other hand, however, the opening of the 7th row after 20.… f7xg6 leads to a decisive extension of the range of the white rook and after 21. Rb7xg7 + Kg8 – f8 or Kf8 – h8 22. Nf4xg6 to mate .
From another perspective, the pawn f7 is tied to the attacking square g7 . There is no way out. Black therefore gave up.
