Öhlbergkellergasse

West beginning of the Kellergasse

The Öhlbergkellergasse in Pillersdorf is a two-line cellar lane and is one of the most original cellar lanes in the Austrian Weinviertel . In 1995, in a competition to revitalize the cellar lanes, it was named the most beautiful cellar lane in Lower Austria.

Some of the wine cellars on both sides of the ravine on the Öhlberg are over 600 years old, and press houses were also added from the 18th century. The special feature of this cellar lane is the naturalness and originality of the whitewashed cellars with the green doors, which have defied almost any modernization.

On the weekends from May to August, the winegrowers take turns to the “open cellar door”, to taste wine and to visit the Öhlbergkellergasse and its cellar. The route of the themed cycle path Der Burgunder leads through the Öhlbergkellergasse.
