Pillersdorf is a place and cadastral community of Zellerndorf in the Hollabrunn district in Lower Austria .

geography

Pillersdorf lies between Retz and Pulkau in the western Weinviertel . To the east of the village in the vineyards is the Öhlbergkellergasse, a group of well-preserved, lovingly cared for wine cellars and press houses. One of the most beautiful cellar lanes in Austria, left in its original state without any annoying extensions, with an almost Mediterranean look and a wonderful panoramic view of the Retz region.

history

A burial ground from the early Bronze Age was discovered in the local area ; today's location was first mentioned in a document in 1281.

Attractions

  • In the case of St. Wolfgang and St. The branch church consecrated to Alban on the south-eastern edge of the village is a small baroque building, probably from the second quarter of the 18th century.
  • To the southwest of the community there is a mighty baroque Calvary group (marked 1730) on a hill.
  • In the center of the village there is a statue with a mercy seat from the mid-18th century.
