Oil alarm
Oil alarms are used, among other things, to monitor closed cooling water circuits for ingress of oil . Oil can reduce the cooling performance and damage the units to be cooled. The oil alarms are quantitative measurements.
function
Oil alarms are used for the quantitative monitoring of closed cooling water circuits. The system is based on gravity separation , i.e. oil droplets in the cooling water rise in the measuring vessel and collect in the upper cylindrical part. The measuring tips of a redundant conductive electrode are located in this area . If the electrode tips are immersed in oil, the electrical resistance between the electrode tips increases and an alarm is triggered. The sensitivity of this system is approx. 50 ml of oil. It is installed in the bypass to the cooling water pipe.
application
Oil alarms should be reliable, easy to use and easy to install. Switching point accuracy and insensitive to vibrations make them ideal for monitoring cooling water.
