Bellecapital AG is a company specializing in asset management based in Zurich. The company was founded in 2009 and manages assets worth around three billion Swiss francs. Bellecapital AG is a member of the Association of Swiss Asset Managers.
Field of activity
The company focuses on the discretionary management of private and family assets. The investment approach is long-only and is based on a combination of top-down and bottom-up approaches . The former defines the sector and country allocation and the latter defines the selection of individual stocks. Whenever possible, Bellecapital invests directly in stocks and bonds and avoids investment funds and structured products. The investment process is led by Mathias Heim, Chief Investment Officer. Martin Jetzer, one of the first editors of the scientific journal Financial Markets and Portfolio Management (FMPM), is Bellecapital's chief economist.
In January 2016, Bellecapital acquired the Williams de Broe private investment management unit from Investec, thereby expanding its international presence with an office in London. This was followed in June 2016 by the takeover of GL Funds, an investment boutique in the field of alternative investments, which was renamed Bellecapital Partners .
Registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
Over the past few years, the demands placed on international financial service providers when dealing with US customers have increased. In order to meet the regulatory requirements, the sister company Bellecapital International was founded in 2011 and registered with the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission).
