Austrian Society for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy

The Austrian Society for Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics (ÖGPP) is an Austrian organization based in Vienna .

It was founded in May 2000 when the Austrian Society for Neurology and Psychiatry was dissolved. Two independent professional societies were founded.

The ÖGPP focuses on the diagnosis, treatment and research of psychiatric diseases. ÖGPP is the most important association for psychiatry and psychotherapy in Austria. The President of the ÖGPP is university professor Dr. Johannes Wancata , Vienna General Hospital (as of 2019).

The organization is a member of the World Psychiatric Association .
