Austrian Society for Public Health

The Austrian Society for Public Health (ÖGPH) is a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary specialist society that advocates the development of sustainable health-oriented structures in society and politics. The ÖGPH understands public health as the research and teaching of health in all policy areas ( Health in all Policies , HiAP).

The central concern is the professionalization of public health through the expansion and national and international networking of research and teaching.

The ÖGPH is the central platform in Austria for networking various actors from very different areas of society. It supports the exchange of expertise and experience through events and also promotes the dialogue between experts and politicians on health issues. The ÖGPH observes social developments and health burdens and takes a position on health and supply-related issues at the state and federal level. Members of the ÖGPH are health professionals, social, economic and political scientists, experts from the hospital sector, public and private health care as well as administration and insurance. You are active in practice, teaching and research.

activities

Activities include organizing the annual scientific conference of the ÖGPH, participating in or initiating statements on current public health topics and participating in national working groups and bodies in the field of public health. The processing of the goals and tasks essentially takes place in the ÖGPH competence groups .
