Academic exercise

An academic exercise, often only for a short exercise (abbreviation: B / UE ) called, is at a university or other university a lecture , a lecture supported and by a professor or staff held a chair. In this type of course, exercises are often set, the solution of which is a prerequisite for participating in the lecture's written exam . Some examination regulations allow you to collect bonus points in the exercises, which improve the exam mark if the exam is passed. The exercise can also take place in the form of a tutorial or sometimes independently of the lecture, similar to a seminar .

Some exercises are divided into group and homework. The tasks of the group exercise are designed as face-to-face events and invite you to find solutions together. The homework, however, is done alone. Exercises often take place weekly. Some universities and colleges combine the exercises with e-learning elements such as interactive tests or put detailed sample solutions online in the following week.
