The term course refers to a lesson in the course of study at a university or technical college . There are different types of courses. They differ in didactic orientation and the required level of qualification of the participants. There are also practical and theoretical courses.

The type of course is announced in the course catalog. The most common types of courses are lectures , tutorials , exercises and seminars . Lectures are mostly of habilitated or at least post-doctoral lecturers held. Tutorials are usually given by students in the higher semester . The other courses generally from lecturers of various qualifications.
