Proseminar

The proseminar ( PS abbreviated) is a course for undergraduate students (see seminar ), which generally ends with a written proseminar paper. Unlike in the case of a lecture or a main seminar , the lecturer does not need to have a doctorate . On the other hand, a university degree is usually sufficient.

In terms of content, the focus is on deepening the learning content, for example by indexing scientific literature . Active participation (collaboration) is required. The focus is on joint discussions or individual literature studies. In order to pass the proseminar, students are usually asked to do one or more presentations and a successful final exam or short term papers.

Within the legal training , however, proseminars take on the role of enabling a deepening in areas of law that are learned within the framework of the specialization and advanced studies.
