The Černá hora (German Christiansthaler Schwarzer Berg ) is the third highest mountain in the Czech part of the Jizera Mountains , located in the central part of the mountains.

properties

With the peak of the Vogelkoppen, the pigeon house ( Holubník ), the Christiansthaler Schwarze Berg forms a characteristic double peak. The Vánoční louka peat bog lies in the saddle between the two peaks.

There are remarkable granite formations such as the Devil's Rest ( Čertův odpočinek ) on the Black Mountain .

Ascent

The summit of the Black Mountain can be reached via the yellow hiking trail, which crosses the entire summit from the west from the Taubensattel junction ( Sedlo Holubníku , 999 m above sea level) and connects there with the blue marking.

Monuments

On the southern slope of the Black Mountain, near Christiansthaler Straße, there is the stone monument “Hunter's Death”. It commemorates the death of the woodcutter Karl Jäger in January 1927. Near the summit there is also a granite memorial to 19-year-old Hans Simmon, who committed suicide in April 1930.
