The Čertovka is a non-navigable, approximately 725 m long side canal of the Vltava in Prague .

The moat, which already existed in the Middle Ages, separates the Kampa from the Lesser Town ( Malá Strana ) and thus turns it into an island or peninsula. It begins just below the bridge of the legions ( coordinates ) and draws its water from today's lock canal; however, the connection is piped and the trench only begins about 40 m away from the canal, with the branching off from the Vltava and the lock canal already 400 m further above ( coordinates ). The open moat then runs along a park to the north, passes under the western end of the Charles Bridge and finally flows back into the Vltava ( coordinates ). Its water still drives two wooden mill wheels, one of which can be seen from Charles Bridge. Several bridges lead over the moat.
