Johann Heinrich Gossler (or Goßler ) (* March 28, 1775 ; † April 3, 1842 ) was a Hamburg banker , senator and member of the Hanseatic family Berenberg / Goßler .

Life

Gossler was co-owner of the trading and banking house Joh. Berenberg, Gossler & Co. together with his brother-in-law Ludwig Edwin Seyler since 1798 . In 1821 he was elected to the Senate of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg .

He was the son of Johann Hinrich Gossler and the father of Hermann Goßler , as well as the grandfather of Johann Freiherr von Berenberg-Gossler (1839–1913). His great-grandson was Johann Heinrich Burchard .

Johann Heinrich Gossler is commemorated on the double collecting grave plate of the Gossler family in the Althamburg Memorial Cemetery, Ohlsdorf Cemetery .
