Ħal-Millieri
The abandoned village of Ħal-Millieri , also known as Casal Millieri , is a former settlement in the Maltese municipality of Żurrieq .
location
The today (2019) uninhabited village is located in the south of the main island of Malta between Żurrieq, Qrendi , Mqabba and Kirkop .
history
The first documented mention of a settlement at this point dates back to 1419. However, based on archaeological findings, it is assumed that the settlement dates back to Roman times or even earlier. The last birth was recorded in 1711.
Chapels
The first inquisitor of Malta, Petrus Dusina, found four chapels at this point during a visitation trip in 1575: The Annunciation Chapel of Millal-Millieri , the Chapel of the Evangelist John , a chapel of the Archangel Michael , which is now in ruins, and another chapel, which also no longer exists Was dedicated to the Visitation of Mary .
