Din l-Art Ħelwa
Dín l-Art Ħelwa is a non-profit organization that, similar to the English National Trust , looks after objects in the field of monument preservation in Malta . It was founded in Valletta in 1965 and is financed through membership fees, donations and sponsorship.
The tasks and goals of Dín l-Art Ħelwa include promoting the public interest in the protection of monuments and nature , providing information about the importance of cultural heritage, enforcing existing law and introducing legislative proposals, restoring and renovating neglected or vandalized cultural monuments, the Owning or managing cultural monuments and lobbying.
Dín l-Art Ħelwa publishes a biannual magazine ( Vigilo ) as well as brochures with cultural-historical walks through individual communities.
