The Salina Bay is a bay in the northwest of Malta's main island of Malta .
At its inner end, table salt is obtained through seawater evaporation. The bay takes its name from these salt pans .
The exit of Salina Bay is flanked by the Għallis Tower , a watchtower built at the time of the Knights of St. John . Nearby are the megalithic temple complex of Bugibba and the temple of Tal-Qadi . The Salina Catacombs are also located on the south side of the bay .
