Sucha Kamienica (German Dürr Kamitz , 1936–1945 Dürnstein ) is a village in the rural community Głuchołazy (goat neck) in Poland . It is located in the powiat Nyski ( Neisse district ) in the Opole Voivodeship .

Geographical location

The street village Sucha Kamienica is located in the southwest of the historical region of Upper Silesia . The place is about ten kilometers north of the municipal seat Głuchołazy ( goat neck ), about 14 kilometers south of the district town Nysa and about 67 kilometers southwest of the voivodeship capital Opole .

The place lies in the Nizina Śląska (Silesian Plain) within the Płaskowyż Głubczycki (Leobschützer Loesshügelland) . Sucha Kamienica is located on the Suski potok .

The village was first mentioned in 1284 as Cameniza . In the Liber fundationis episcopatus Vratislaviensis from the years 1295-1305, the place is mentioned as "Sucha Kamonka". In 1374 the place was mentioned as Durrin Kempnicz .

After the First Silesian War in 1742, Dürr Kamitz and most of Silesia fell to Prussia .

After the reorganization of the province of Silesia , the rural community Dürr Kamitz belonged to the district of Neisse in the administrative district of Opole from 1816 . In 1845 there was a Scholtisei and 63 other houses in the village . In the same year 392 people lived in Dürr Kamitz, all of them Catholic. In 1855 374 people lived in the village. In 1865 there were 20 farmers, 11 gardeners and 18 cottagers in the village . The village was schooled and parish according to the Polish bet . In 1874 the administrative district Polish Wette was founded, which consisted of the rural communities Dürr Kamitz, Markersdorf and Polish Wette and the manor districts Dürr Kamitz and Polish Wette. The first head of office was Dr. med. Bilzer. In 1885 Dürr Kamitz had 352 residents.

In 1933, 322 people lived in Dürr Kamitz. On August 18, 1936, the place was renamed Dürnstein as part of a wave of renaming during the Nazi era . In 1939 Dürnstein counted 329 people. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Neisse .

In 1945 Dürnstein came under Polish administration and was renamed Sucha Kamienica . From 1950 it belonged to the Opole Voivodeship and from 1999 to the re-established Powiat Nyski .
